Hampel Oil/Mobil Delvac Scholarships Awarded Through the Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF)
July 23, 2024
Together, Hampel Oil and the Mobil Delvac team offered $1,000 scholarships to juniors and seniors at K-State and Fort Hays State University (FHSU). The recipients of the scholarships are two Fort Hays State University students. Amy Foos from Ness City and Aubrey Warden of Sublette. Amy is the daughter of Bryan and Jennifer Foos and Aubrey Warden is the daughter of Ron and April Warden.
Amy Foos will be a senior majoring in Agricultural Business at Fort Hays State University. She has maintained an average GPA of 3.80 and above while working part-time. She is deeply passionate about women in agriculture as well as a commitment to inspire the youth. After graduating in May of 2025, Amy plans to take over her grandfather's dry-land crop farm with her father. She hopes to coordinate and create an agricultural life-skills summer camp for the youth on their farm, which will allow children from across western Kansas to see what the world of agriculture is all about while gaining hands-on experience.
Aubrey Warden will be a senior majoring in Agricultural Business with a minor in Accounting. She came from a farming background and has taken part in her father's custom hay, drilling, discing, mowing, and grading services. She has also taken part in her family's cattle business and has added her cattle to the herd. After graduating, she plans to either work as an Agribusiness management accountant or work for an animal agriculture association that advocates for livestock production. Aubrey's most important achievement is pursuing her degree in something that she holds dear, while also being a young mother. She wants to continue to represent the agricultural industry while also proving that being a mother does not get in the way of women succeeding in their dreams and their pursuit of something bigger.
These scholarships were made possible by a donation to KLF from the Mobil Delvac team and Hampel Oil, a family-operated business with six locations in Kansas.
The KLF accepts applications for scholarships for the following school year. Applicants must be graduates of a Kansas high school and enrolled at a Kansas community or senior college for the following fall semester.
